Edge Computing and Cloud

“Cloud computing” describes the delivery of hosted services over the Internet for processing and storing data. Users of cloud services can reduce their investment in server technology and infrastructure, they can reduce cost for the administration of such infrastructure and applications, and they can scale their consumption of computing power easily up and down following demand. Cloud computing also provides a way to collect and process data from many different sources in one central location.

Softing dataFEED solutions connect industrial automation networks with cloud-based IoT and Industrie 4.0 applications. Applications may run in public clouds, in private clouds or in hybrid scenarios. In particular suitable for IoT and Industrie 4.0 solutions are the following products:

  • Industrial IoT Starter Kit (software solution running on an industrial PC)
  • edgeGate (stand-alone gateway)
